Our Y is governed by our Board of Directors that consists of volunteers from throughout the Clark County community. Our volunteer Board of Directors sets policy for our executive, who manages the operation with full-time and part-time staff and volunteer leaders.

It takes many caring people to make all the great things happen at the Y. That's why our staff leaders are at the forefront of the Springfield Family YMCA delivering on its mission. Each of us shares our time, energy and focus on strengthening our community through helping kids reach their potential, encouraging healthy living for all ages, and giving back to our neighbors. Here are the men and women who are leading the YMCA into the future:

Julie Carney

Aquatics Director 
Julie has been with the YMCA for 10 years.  Julie is involved in many aspects at the YMCA, including, aquatics, membership and building rentals.  She is a lifelong Springfield, Ohio resident.  She and her husband, Jim, have been married 20 years and have three daughters.  When not at the YMCA, Julie enjoys spending time with her family.

Carrie Hawes
Administrative Assistant
Carrie has been with the YMCA for 4 years.  She has worked in many areas of the back office, currently assisting the CEO.  Carrie is a lifelong Springfield, Ohio resident.  She and her husband, Jeff, have been married 5 years and have one daughter.  In her spare time, Carrie enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
 

Brandon Lambert
Youth Director
Brandon is from Springfield Ohio, born June 15 1973.  Brandon was a swimmer on the Springfield YMCA swim team from the age of 6 until he graduated from Springfield North High School in 1991. Brandon was a regular participant at the YMCA zone championships and in 1991, qualified in three events to attend the YMCA National swim meet.  Brandon attended Wittenberg University from 1991-1995 with major studies in Geography and Urban Planning, and minor studies in Business Economics and Art.  Brandon also was a swimmer on Wittenberg University Swim Team having held the school record in 400 IM and participated in the NCAC Conference Championships.  Brandon also attended Clark State University for studies in Computer Aided Design and Drafting.

Professionally, Brandon has worked in many different job fields, including mechanical design, graphic design, construction management, general contracting, and facility management.   Before joining the YMCA, Brandon has worked the last two years for the National Trail Parks and Recreation District of the City of Springfield as Water Park Manager at Splash Zone.  

Brandon currently resides in London Ohio with wife Anna and two daughters Addison and Brooklyn.  Brandon enjoys spending time at home with family and friends. 


Brenda Trinkle

Member Services/Accounts Receivable
Brenda has been at the YMCA for one year.  She works in the back office handling accounts receivable, she is the front desk supervisor, managaes our memberships amongst other duties.  Brenda is a lifelong resident of Springfield, Ohio.  She and her husband, Todd,  have 4 children and one grandson.  In her spare time, Brenda enjoys baking and scrapbooking.


Becca Roberts
Health and Well-Being Director
Becca Roberts is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but traveled to Ohio for college. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a Coaching minor from Cedarville University. She coached Junior Varsity, and Varsity volleyball at Xenia Christian High School and has coached basketball at the YMCA.



Tammie Jacobs
Child Care Director
With over 30 years of experience in education, Tammy is the Child Care Director for the Springfield Family YMCA and has been with us for over 13 years.  She graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in Elementary Education and Pre-School/Kindergarten.  She is an adjuct professor at Clark State Community College teaching Early Childhood Education.  She enjoys working with children of all ages and has taught gymnastics at the YMCA. 


Terry Muscato
Group Fitness Coordinator
Terry has been with the Springfield Family Y since 1998. She manages the daily functions of the aerobic studio,adult fitness classes and the other instructors. Terry is certified in Group Exercise, Personal Training, Group Cycling, Active Older Adults and SilverSneakers. When not at the Y she likes to work in the garden and travel with her husband.

Stephanie Harris
Aquatic Program Coordinator
Stephanie has been with the YMCA for 10 years.  She manages the pool, teaches swimming lessons and exercise classes among other aquatic duties.  Stephanie is a lifelong Springfield, Ohio resident, graduated from Shawnee High School in 2004.  Stephanie and her husband have two sons.  In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading and watching movies.
 

Bruce Patmos
SPY Team Director
Bruce is the Head Coach of the Springfield Y swim team (SPY). He is in his 6th year of being head coach since returning from California, where he spent nearly 20 years coaching swimming, mostly at the Canyons Aquatic Club. At Canyons, he grew the program from 90 swimmers to up over 400 swimmers in his final year. During that time he produced 2 USA Olympians, Anthony Ervin in 2000 (gold medalist in the 50 freestyle, silver medalist on the 400 free relay. His 2nd Olympian for the USA was Gabe Woodward in 2004, silver medalist on the 400 free relay. He has also produced numerous Olympic Trial qualifiers, USA National Team members, USA National Champions, USA Junior National Champions, National Record holders, California Record holders, he annually produced more National Age-Group Top 16 ranked swimmers than any other program in California.


He first started swimming with SPY as a 12 year old and then started coaching with SPY in the early 80's under head coach Dave Johnson.

Upon his return to SPY in the fall of 2006, the program has remained steady at around 170-180 swimmers. Summer numbers grew from around 30 to 120+ each summer. SPY now train at multiple sites each year, including Urbana University, Elk's Lodge, Marysville Municipal pool, and the Union County YMCA, as well as the Springfield Y. He produced the most highly decorated high school swimmer in the history of Ohio in Margo Geer. SPY is now the top rated National program out of Ohio each year at YMCA Nationals, usually ranking in the top 10-15 across the country. Locally SPY has won thei Northern Sectional meet for 10 years in a row, and for the past 4 years we have ended 3rd overall in our League Championships, not far behind to powerhouse programs in the Cincinnati area. Our string of 4 straight top-3 finishes is a record for the program!

We now have a consistant masters swimming program, boasting over 25 members on a consistant basis.

Looking to the future, he hopes to expand our program to at least one new site and will attempt to double our numbers within the next 3 years.
