Woody Cornette, Chief Executive Officer

Woody began serving at the Springfield Family YMCA as its Physical Director in August of 2002, and was quickly promoted to his current position as CEO in May of 2003. Woody graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Three years later, Woody completed his Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from Ohio University. In February of 1999, the Licking County Family YMCA hired Woody as its Health & Fitness Director, a position he held until his arrival at the Springfield Family YMCA. Other relevant job experiences Woody has held prior to joining the Springfield Family YMCA include Wellness Center Coordinator and Undergraduate Instructor at Campbellsville University, Fitness Center Coordinator at Ohio University and internships at Kim Dayani Human Performance Center where Woody specialized in Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab and Exercising Testing. Despite the large workload his CEO position demands, Woody finds time to enjoy a number of hobbies including running seven miles per day, cycling, watching movies, water skiing, camping and volunteering.
