Wes Stephens, Senior Program Director

Wes, a graduate of Cedarville University with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, got his start at the Springfield Family YMCA soon after graduation in 2003 as the Sports Enhancement Coordinator. He then left the YMCA at the end of 2004 to pursue graduate school at the University of Dayton where he received his Master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science in 2007. In the meantime, Wes began working full-time at Springfield Shawnee High School in 2006 as its Head Athletic Trainer, a position he still holds. Wes, who grew up in Zimbabwe, Africa, also re-joined the YMCA family in August of 2007 as its Senior Program Director. Some of his job duties include membership, program development, director supervision and teaching fitness classes. On the rare occasion that Wes finds free time, he enjoys anything outdoors and is very competitive in triathlons.
